Copyright laws are provided to protect the rights of the material creator.  An author, songwriter, illustrator or web page builder for example, are granted certain rights that can be held, sold  given up or expire. 

This page is intended for teachers and students to discover whether their use of media falls under the "fair use" guidelines.  Fair use applies to teaching materials used in the classroom.  Most personal uses are not covered by the guidelines.
